P4B-266 C-Media sound volume problem

Motherboard and CPU (P4 1.6A @ 2.4) are running beautifully. However, I've noticed a significant volume drop from my old sound card (Creative Soundblaster PCI 128). I've checked all volume sliders and settings I can find and still can't really get it loud. It is usable but with the old card you could really crank it. Just wondering if this has come up for anybody else.
