P45 Mobos & DDR3 mem for OCing?

Just ordered GA-EP45C-UD3R & Q6600 from Newegg with plans to OC the Quad-Core Q6600 as much as possible. My question is this motherboard here supports both DDR3 & DDR2 so I would like to get DDR3 1600 or higher for it but I have heard there are some problems with P45 mobos & DDR3 especially with trying to OC? Can you make a recommendation as to what type of DDR3 mem I should get or if it even makes a huge performance difference in games/apps to get DDR3 over DDR2?!?! So confused..

Get some DDR2. DDR3 is seriously overpriced for what it can do. There's a bunch of benchmarks that show fairly minimal differences between DDR3 1600 and DDR2 800 for gaming at least.

Hmm....I see. But is it OK for overclocking? If it is I'd rather go with the DDR3
