I don't know much about P4 RAM. But my friend has a lot of money to blow and he was considering spending $300 for 1 gig of PC3200 corsair RAM:

It would be the third one from the bottom. Now I don't know much about P4 RAM... but that seems like a hefty chunk of change for RAM. Is it worth it? He doesn't plan on doing much overclocking. He already bought a 2.4 gig P4. I don't know his plan for buying. He just asked me what would be good to get. What kind of RAM should I be looking for?

Why not buy cheaper memory and a faster P4 if not overclocking much? Get a 2.6 - 2.8, $200 memory, and do no overclocking at all.

What kind of mainboard? I have a P4P800 and had a bit of trouble getting TwinX1024 going at spec speeds. I was not able to set RAS-to-CAS to 2 without corrupting my BIOS.
