Is there going to be a Chipset that supports SDram? is that DDR SDram? or what PC133?

Frankly, I for one would not pair up a 1.4 ghz chip with single data rate SDRAM. The memory bandwidth bottleneck won't allow for the processor to run at its best. It would be a waste of clock speed. Rambus is too expensive, so it'll have to be AMD and DDR or nothing.

i don't see what people are saying about Rambus being expensive.. it's not the days where it was 1000 or so.. it's like 300 bux now...

I heard Intel had a DDR chipset ready, as a back up option for the P4. they arent taking any chances this time.

The P4 Xeon has/will have a DDR Chipset. Intel can modify that one if Rambus turns out to be a dud even with this 400 MHz FSB

But by the time September or Nov (if *nhel is gets really lucky and get their act together), the post gig Athlon will be hovering around a $700 or less. Remember, by then, AMD will probably have a 1.5Gig out so *nhel will still have a problem with competition. Did I say &quot;I love this man&quot;? Ah, it is a great time to be an AMD user.
