my motherboard is the abit ic7-g.

thanks

Most people say not to go above 1.7V. According to this document from Intel, it looks to me like the failure voltage for the processor is 1.75V. Personally, I wouldn't operate it regularly above 1.65V.

FYI, according to Overclockers.com the average overclock for a 3.0C is 3557, with 3500 being the highest reported speed using stock cooling. All entries in thier database use 1.75V or below, with only one actually using 1.75V (in conjunction with Prometia cooling).

Nice cpuz page.

You wont garner much past 1.6v actual anyways to 1.65 or 1.7c so I say keep it close to 1.6v and definitely below 1.65v with this p4c HT chips...

That's not a bad clock at 1.55.

Need to be careful going up beyond 1.7 though even with a prometria as voltage breakdown will occur regardless of temperature and then its out CPU shopping again...

thanks for all the replies. i think im going to keep it at 1.575. i cant get it to boot at higher fsb speeds anyways.

i may even turn it down enough to get my ram to 1:1 instead of 5:4.

and considering how dusty my pc gets inside i dont want the hsf getting clogged and frying my cpu.
