Thanks. Its abotu what I assumed which is a 5-10% increase in performance in some apps. Isnt worth the extra money imho unless they overclock like monsters but I dont remember xeons being that good.

You cant think that intels afterthought to the a64 was gonna be an a64 killer. Amds been screwing around with this thing for over a year now. Im sure if pentium was planning this thing for 1.5 years it would probably be better.

All it is meant to do is rain on amd's parade...many have stated and expected for a cpu that amd has invested more R&d into then any other chip in its history and taken years to get out even being delayed for a considerable time needs to come in and do more then just win sme gaming benches by 10%...The athlon64 still may loose plenty of multimedia apps to the 3.2c and Intel knows their edge is the gaiming and this l3 enhancement as anand has stated can help more in games then in most other apps. If it can come in and tighten those gaps with no real R&d or fabbing effort from Intel...Why wouldn't thy do it and steal some of the thunder...

That is all this is...marketing and posturing!!!

disappointing, i wonder what 2.4C's scores since they have the massiva bus when OC'ed to those levels

Well, when OCed to those levels, just about everyone is using a 5:4 divider, so the actual memory bus isn't really running that fast. You'd need some of the new PC4200 to run @ 1:1 to those levels. (266.666666mhz)
