My asus utility states my cpu (p4 1.5mhz) is running at 61c. I have a stock 478 heatsink installed and Arctic silver fox paste between.
Anyone think this is too hot? No overclocking

That's about (p4 1.9GHz 478 @60c) what I'm getting under full load with the stock heatsink/fan. I thought that was a bit high, so I ran the prime 95 torture test overnight to see how it would do. It ran just fine and never went over 60c. In bios the temps are around 40c.

I think I read somewhere that the 478 P4's run a little warmer that the 423's. I did some searching and from what I could gather, others are seeing temps in the same range. I suspect this is normal, but I would like to hear what others have to say.

BTW: I'm using MBM5 to monitor temps.

Asus Probe is a pile of dung in my opinion.

It was telling me that my 478 Pin P4 on my P4T-E was idling at over 50c with my AVC hotdog. I checked the seating, compound etc and knew this wasn't right

To check i d/l Cpucool, MBM 5.1 and MBProbe- All of which indicated that my Cpu was idling at about 27-33c which is slightly lower than my bios readings.

Download MBM 5.1 and see what that says.
