Linky, according overclockers cpu database, the SL6EF stepping should do 3.0GHZ fine.

Regardless of what they say it's still luck of the draw. I know of 2 of these that won't hit 3 gig. One runs at 2.9 and the other tops out at 2.7+

I have an SL6EF, and it tops out at 2.9 or something around there for me

Also I think that newegg is regularly shipping SL6EF's now (though not ONLY)
