P4 Bracket...

Is there 2 types of P4 Bracket to hold the Heatsink in place? i have one with to arms that go over the Heatsink.... i need one with out these arms for my Water cooling setup. Anyone know where i can get one from?

Needs to be in the UK.. It has 4 places for you to clip onto on the corners....

I'm not aware of there being 2 types of brackets for the P4. There is the stock one that comes on the motherboard itself. There may be others that come with your waterblock or heatsink if they want you to use an alternative method of attaching it.

Sounds like there might be something missing from your kit.

I know several sources here in the US but I know of none in the UK or EU so I haven't posted. It's not 'cause I don't care.🙂

Thanks guys.. Ill keep looking for one. I read on the box that it needs a socket 478 MainBoard and mine appears to be a different socket.. 🙁 so i am gonna have to find some where that i can get this from... It is just the bit of plastic i imagine that they are interchangeable.. dunno thou 🙁

Maybe post a willing-to-buy thread in a UK-based hardware forum, someone's got to have a dead P4 board they'd part out for you. Good hunting 🙂

Typically waterblicks have mounting holes which are through the motherboard. The stock cooling bracket with the two arms needs to be removed in order to utilize the mounting holes.

I think this is what you are talking about.
