I'm having a lot of trouble deciding on whether I should buy a ddr based mobo or one that uses rdram. I plan on buying a P4 1.6A, and would like to overclock. I know it's harder to do with rdram, but are there any brands of rdram that are easier to oc with? Also, what would you recommend I do? Go for a ddr or rdram mobo? Is rdram worth possibly giving up the ability to overclock?

Don't tell my TH7II-RAID that............I've got a 2.2 in it, run it day - to - day at 2.6 @ 1.6 and have had it at 2.8. Granted, I also have a system I recently built for my wife which has the SiS P4S333 board and DDR PC2700, it too runs at 2.6 but don't discount RD!;) A friend of mine just put together a 1.8 with the same TH7II board and is at 2.3 with it as we speak!:)

I believe the board is a factor, as well as good RDRAM. I always buy Samsung, but, have talked to many people whom also have had good luck with others such as Kingston.............

Not to be mean, but this question gets asked at least once a day. You might want to use the search function and see what people have said...over and over again.

I agree with all that ToBeMe said except I have heard that Corsair is the best for overclocking. The board really does matter, and TH7II rocks. I woiuldn't recommend anything else for a P4 system at this time.

Um, not being sarcastic or anything in any way, but, the reason I didn't mention Corsair specificly is....................Corsair uses Samsung chips for it's RDRAM............;) The info is on their site if you want to verify..........:)
