Hey everyone, I got my shiny new Gigabyte 8IEXP this afternoon, along with a P4 1.8A. As I assembled it, I noticed the heatsink flexes the board quite a bit. The comp runs beautifully but I'm a bit worried about how much the board is bent.

I've read up on it since then and I realise that this is normal, but still I'm wondering

- If you're using a non-standard cooler, what is it and how does the board flex compare to that of the stock cooler?
- Has anyone had any problems as a result of this flexing?
- Has anyone come up with a simple fix? (I don't see how but it's eorth a try :D )
- Anyone got any general light to shed in the matter?

Thanks dudes.

Ben

you can hit edit to fix your typo.

i personally think the board bending part suxazz! and is completely uneeded.
what if your board stays like that?
how are you ever going to be able to install a better HSF if the board is bent and out of spec?

in the words of my grandmother - i think it sux :|

Thanks for the reply.

I know, it does suck. I mean, if I was a motherboard, and some heatsink tried to flex me like that, I wouldn't stand for it. I'd be whooping heatsink ass. :)

i notice alotof flex on my ECS ps5a also......so anyone know if its bad/ hehehe....we all know it sux but will it affect stability... etc?

I noticed on Soyo Dragons they got a nice steel X that is under the mainboard so it doesnt flex.
