Probably old/stupid question but it's been so long since i've dealt with such an issue..

I just upgraded my box so i figured i'd use my old parts to put together a little media station PC. I picked up a jetway MiniQ that supports socket 478 (1.x-3.0gh) p4's. However, when I boot the thing the BIOS displays it at 1.5ghz (100x15.0). I don't see any FSB settings in the BIOS, or multipliers.. just the following (snip from the manual):

Except there is no CPU Clock Ratio. I tried changing the Host/PCI Clock which is at 100/33Mhz to 132 (max it will let me) and it reboots with the same setting.

I upgraded to the latest bios from the manuf. but still same menu in the bios. (cept i could change the Host/PCI Clock to 200 before, but still didn't save it when it rebooted).

So.. anyone have any ideas? Model is Jetway P4MDF/P4MDFT mobo. TIA..

Your Cpu is a P4-3.0C, which needs a 800fsb-capable mobo to run on. Most likely, your board supports only 400/533FSB P4s. This is why the clock speed reports at 1/2 the proper speed. The multiplier is 15, but because it is incompatible with the 200FSB strap, it just runs at 100.

You'd probably be able to find someone in the FS/FT forums willing to trade a 2.66b/2.8b/3.06 P4 on the 533fsb, that will be compatible with your mobo.

Yep, this is probably the case. I myself have a fe 3.0C chips but no compatable mobo anymore.
