p4 3.06 ghz and blue screen of death

Hello everyone. When I use the pentium 3.06 ghz chip, my computer frequently shows the blue screen of death.
My computer will run perfect with a pentium 2.6 chip, but as soon as I put in the 3 gig, I get the blue screens (with
various errors).
The power supply is not the problem, for it is designed for a 3 gig processor. I am wondering if it is the processor
fan. The fan is a thermaltake (designed for pentium 2.4 I think). Does anybody know what the problem is?
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Download Motherboard Monitor or SiSoft Sandra while running something that will put your CPU at full load (Prime95 for example). Check and see if your temps get too high w/ the new processor. From what you've said, I'd bet temp was your problem if you're using a 2.4ghz recommended heatsink. The 3.06 puts out over 100 watts of heat!

Hope this helps some 🙂

it wont run coz the processor is too damn fast haha

seriously tho, u shud try flashin the biois to get the latest version, did u install windows again after u moved frm the non HT chip the the current one?
