P4 2Ghz Dell Dimension 8200 (refurbished) for under $750...hot deal?

Dell refurbished inventory
$50 off final purchase price MIR

This is my very first post here so y'all be nice. My story: after weeks of eyeballing the refurbished P4 1.8Ghz that Dell has been offering in the Outlet-Home site, and after missing out on the free shipping which ended on 4/4/02, I ended up buying this system for $835. Downgrading to the 1.8Ghz cost just as much!..if not more. After I receive my $50 bucks rebate, the grand total with shipping will only be $785 for this rig! If all were bought separately, it would cost more to achieve this setup. Warranty is upgradeable as well w/ all Dell refurbs so no worries there.

Anyone who wants to upgrade to the 2Gig mark w/ Rambus and more than adequate extras should appreciate this deal. Hope this helps some of you out there.

Keep an eye out for a better deal @ Dell. I bought a NEW 8200 (same except no RW) for $613 last month with these discounts:

-$250 off promotion
-$75 on-line coupon
-$300 rebate from Dell
-2% discount (Ebates)
-$95 Free shipping (Ebates)
No Tax

$613 total shipped

Always use Ebates @ Dell.

Compareto 1.6G 4400, only difference is 2G CPU. That one is around $400 back to Feb. deal.
PC800 RDRAM compare to PC2100 DDR and refurbish to new.

MisterMagoo - Stretching it a bit there don't you think!:| We buy Dell Desktops monthly (mostly 8200s) and monitor the "deals" closely. There has not been any deal anywhere close to the one that you have listed above. You might have got a barebones P1.6 or P1.7 for that price but not a 2Ghz as configured above. Also, Dell has not offered a $300 MIR on any 8200 in the past 6 months. The largest rebate was a $250 MIR , but that was during a period when no free shipping or instatnt savings applied. Most Dell rebates on the 8200 are only $100 or $150. You can view ALL Dell 8200 rebates in the past 6 months here or here

As a general rule, on the best Dell deals, you can get a stripped down 8200 between $700-800, but this will only get you the lowest processor which is usually a 1.6Ghz. These best 8200 Deals are usually found thorugh small business, but they charges sales tax so for most, that cools off the deal quite a bit.

Wow, MisterMagoo, that was some deal !
Can't find your thread though where you shared that deal with all yer bud's. Link ? 😕

Hey GetReal:

Stretching it, no I don't think so! I guess you're just pissed cause you're getting crappy deals on your 8200's every month. I would be pissed too if I knew everyone was getting better rebates than me.

Here's the link for the $300 rebate that you say never existed:

As for free shipping, if you read my post you'd have seen that shipping was an Ebates promotion not Dell. Oh, and nothing barebones here, this is a P4 2GHz machine.

BTW the best deals are not through Small Business because this was on the Home and Home Office page. Guess you're wrong, wrong, wrong on all counts.

LordGord:

I found most of this deal on another deal board (I think it was Techbargains). The free shipping was a extra bonus when I went to purchase thru Ebates. I'm sure the shipping deal was for a limited time but it could be back. Keep watching.

Sorry for not posting it here. My bad.

Man that was a GOOD DEAL! I'd of jumped...

I'm currently sitting on my $100 brochure discount waiting for the right moment. Thanks for your info.

I patiently waited for 6 - 8 weeks before pulling the trigger. It was worth the wait. I finally retired my old PII 400MHz Dell from 1998. This new one is sweet.

So where are the prices that you conveniently left of your order? This deal never existed as you have it posted. If you check TechBrgns when you claim the deal was posted, their deal was $714 after the $250 instant, and Dell MIR. The deal was an error and Dell corrected it within two hours. Note the TB deal update below. Also , the free shipping in Dell home that week was for everyone, not htrough eBates.
TB Deal as posted 3/2/2002...

Dimension 8200 P4 2Ghz 256MB RDRAM/20GB CD XP Home $1089 - $75 coupon $300 rebate = $714!
8200 P4-1.8Ghz is $989 - $75 - $300 = $614.
Select Desktops, Choose 8200, Customize & Price, P4-2Ghz/Works/Basic Audio/1yr, 20GB HD, Video Ready, 48x CD, Select Monsoon speakers below (Leave below unchecked), Remove NIC (If possible), Continue, Ignore compatibility warning on speakers, remove the surge protector, Add to cart. Coupon entry is in My Cart screen next to subtotal.
DO NOT check the free memory upgrade. It invalidates rebate. (Thanks scott)

Update: Dimension 8200: 3:30pm PST Discount for 2/2.2Ghz is now $150, not $250.

Don't trash other people's legitimate deal with a Hypothetical deal that you cooked up.

GetReal:

I'm not trashing anyone's deal. Just suggesting that better deals could be had if you watch and wait. I waited, I watched, I got a good deal.

In fact so good YOU don't believe it. I really don't care if you believe it or not. I got a GREAT DEAL! You didn't.
