I just got all my parts in and am currently overclocking it. here are the specs:

Antec Performance Plus 660B w/ 330 Watt True Power
P4 2.53 533FSB w/ stock heatsink and fan
Epox 4g4a+
512MB Corsair XMS PC3200 C2
using the built-in graphics for now

Overclocked to:
19X150 = 2.85GHz
1.5V (from Sandra); stable

Sandra shows idle temps of 43-43C. Under Prime95 torture load, it shows high of 63C.

I will definitely try to push it higher. My question is how high should I allow my CPU temp to get? Also, I'm using the thermal compound (film) that came with the stock heatsink/fan. Should I ditch that for some thermal paste?

I don't have an 4G4A+, but I do have an IT7-Max (Abit). I have a 2.53 with the retail cooler w/ AS III applied.

@ 2.85GHz (same as you), 1.5V default, it's about 42-44C idle and 54-56C at load.

When I up the voltage to 1.675 because of a higher overclock, the temperatures at load go through the roof: 66C!

So obviously I run at default voltage and the speeds that can run at 1.5V.
