Anyone out there have one of these new stepping model P4's and were able to OC it with PC1066 Rambus successfully?

According to THG, the 100mhz FSB is multiplier locked at 25 x 100.....so.....

25 x 133 = 3.325 Ghz!!!!

If so, then this would be the next 'gem' for Intel.

When are they do out?
This would be a sweet o/cing chip on the cheap.
If you had older ram and mb that you didn't want to upgrade this would be perfect.

I hope it is cheaper than the 2.53 (533) with the latest price cuts from Intel! :)

www.sharkyextreme.com had some pricing, around 250 (usd). (10 bucks per mhz).

All I can say is get a sis648 mobo and use ratios to get to 400+mhz ddr....ON the other hand it likley does not have a pci lock and you are screwed if it does not hit 133fsb!!! Yikes...

i845e or g mobos will only offer 354 or 33mhz ddr at that point and 533fsb mobos need to be reunning 400mhz to compete with rambus...

I assume you're not a mathematician :p --> 2500 MHz *$10/MHz = $25,000 <-- No wonder Intel can afford to make massive price cuts
You probably mean something like 10 cents a MHz :D

Sorry to spoil all the happy thoughts here but the 2.5 isn't out yet. (It was another paper release)

Yeah, Newegg has all the new speed grades except for 2500/400. They do, however have the 2600/400 which should overclock similarly

*edit*scratch that, the 2.6 GHz is way more expensive than the 2.53 GHz

2.5GHz

2.5GHz

2.5GHz

There will be more vendors stocking this CPU shortly. Not bad, for a processor that was only released yesterday.

Where can I buy an AXP 2400 or 2600?

I have high hopes but I would be very surprized if you could get 3+ GHz out of one of these cpus without special cooling, high voltage and a good bit of luck.

Anand doesn't seem to think so :p Check the final page of his 2.8 review.

It's a brand new chip, I would be very suprised if it doesn't.
The 2.26 is regularly hitting 3Gz and so is the 2.53

Whatever the case, I sure would like to know some results on these. They sound like they're going to be a very good prosessor to have your hands on......the test results will tell the story.....Who wants to go first!;)

You don't follow the overclocking community much do you? ;)

P4 2.26s are consistently hitting 3GHz air cooled, and these new steppings are hitting between 3.1 and 3.4GHz air cooled.
