Just saw another piece of evidence regarding my opinion that Tom has a HUGE bias against Intel. Who wants to read articles from someone speaking as if their life savings are in AMD stock?

"This new 'front side bus' has actually really only been increased from 100 to 133 MHz, but because data is transported at 'quadruple data rate' on this bus, Intel's marketing machine multiplies the actual bus clock with 4 and so the old bus clock was '400 MHz' and the new bus clock is '533 MHz'."

Hmmm. Is there another company that says they have a 200Mhz FSB or a 266MHz FSB? I wish I could think of the name of the company. Not to mention all of the fools buying PC133 with a DDR tag on it selling as 266Mhz Man are they gonna be surprised when they find out it is all marketing. Wait a minute! I've been fooled too! My RDRAM is not PC800, it is only PC400!! Tom has the answer! It is all marketing (Only on Intel's side though)!!

I wonder what Tom calls QuantiSpeed?

<< So it does look like PC-1066 and PC-1200 are on it's way (me drools). I also believe they should be backward compatible with PC800 motherboards (the 32-bit would allow just one chip to be used?).

Sorry, definately not. You will not be able to run a RIMM4200 or above (32-bit Rambus memory) on an older motherboard such as the P4T-E. The RIMM4200 design REQUIRES a new motherboard design. These new motherboards will have 2 memory slots, instead of 4, since each module is 2 channels in itself and you will neet to put a new RIMM4200 C-RIMM in the empty slot just like older Rambus memory.

All of the "exciting" new memory technologies will need a new motherboard: 32-bit Rambus memory and dual-channel DDR will both require a motherboard upgrade :(.

Clevor didn't speak about the innovative 32-bit 4200RIMM man....And PC1066 (don't know about PC1200 too far from now) is fully compatible with any P4T-E or ABIT TH7II as long as they have the ICS-13 memory CRGs that can support it (read Anand's review of the new P4 today carefully) like mine! :D
Not to mention that with a simple bios update is very probable they might support the whole new 533FSB series P4s since as Anand says again, the new proccesor is exactly the same architecturally with the classic northwoods they already can take...!! Read this:
"Currently, the vast majority of i850 chipsets work just fine at a 133MHz FSB frequency but definitely not all. From this point on however, all Pentium 4 processors will be using the 133MHz FSB. What are end users to do? If you have a recent i850 board then chances are it already works fine at the 133MHz FSB, but in order to meet Intel's validation requirements a new chipset with official support for the FSB had to be produced - the i850E. The i850E is no different from the i850 from a feature standpoint other than its official support for the 133MHz quad-pumped FSB. Electrically, it's nearly identical to the i850 with minor modifications to ensure that it will fully pass Intel's validation specifications at the increased FSB frequency. "
