My friend has a gigabyte MB i845PE|5P1A3D GA-8PE800 motherboard, and his 2.4 ghz processor is 1.61 ghz (in windows when you right click on my computer). Isn't there a CMOS setting i can change?

THanks in advance for the help!

2.4/800? sounds like the FSB is running at 133 instead of 200 if thats the case.

2400 MHZ = 12 multiplier x 200 FSB
1600 MHZ = 12 multipler x 133 FSB ...

as ELFenix said, up the FSB.

IT's a 845PE board. He'll have to upgrade his motherboard if he wants full speed.

The board might be able to run at 200Mhz quad pumped but whether it will be stable or not is the question?

My Gigabyte 8IEXP has the option in the bios for 200Mhz support but the board only officially supports the 100/133 quad pumped bus since it is based on the 845E. If I can get someone to loan me a P4C I would give 800MHz FSB a try in my board but none of my mates are upgrading anytime soon.
