P4 1600A @ 2.4ghz temps, good? bad?

I forgot what I used to get with the stock at 2.4ghz, but I think it was a lot lower than 44/60 idle/load. I think that's really high? Anyone else? Anyway, I replaced the heatsink and the fan. The fan is sucking air away from the HS, is that right? Anyway, I'm running this:
Asus P4533B-V mobo
P41.6Aghz March pack date.
ThermalRight AX478 heatsink
Sunon 39CFM fan w/ TT RPM adjuster
Two intakes, two exhausts on a generic Chieftec

BIOS:
140fsb
1.65v (motherboard tends to overvolt so I get overvolt beeps)

Again, thanks for the help.

First off, if you've got a 1.6A with FSB at 140, then you're running 2.24, not 2.4 (unless you typo'd). Is that 1.65v in BIOS or actual? If its BIOS setting, then you could get over 1.7v which is bad. But either way, I'd expect better temps than that with a TR AX478 and a 39CFM fan. Did you use the thermal pad or a grease like AS3?

that is pretty high...although ive got a different heatsink and a weaker fan i'm getting max temps of 56
1.8a@2.7ghz with 150FSB

I think you meant 150fsb. That's similar to what I have, 1.6a @ 2.4Ghz 1.6v on P4B533V. 🙂

However, I have a Lian-Li w/ 2 front intake fans, 1 exhaust (+1 psu fan). I'm using the retail Intel HS w/ artic silver (original stuff, not 2 or 3). I get about 39c to 53c, idle to full load. The HS fan is blowing air onto HS.

is the fan all the way up?
it should be blowing btw
take off the side of the case and see if it helps, if so get some (or get some better) case fans

Thats pretty bad. My brothers 1.6a @ 2.4, 1.625v is running at 42C full load @ 29C case temp, AVC Sunflower.

Asus p4s333

i own a p4 1.6a too. it's overclocked to 2.3 GHz using a swiftech mcx4000 with fan blowing on the heatsink/cpu. idle temps are at 28C and full load is 35C.

How are you guys getting sub 43c temps for the cpu? What's your room temp? Motherboard temp? How many drives? What programs are you running to get the full load temps?

The temps for prime95 are 2-3c higher than the seti temps.

good questions that i would like answers to also.

I have a 1.6a march pack date that I am runnig at 2591 mhz (162 FSB) @ 1.7 volts and my temp settings after 30 mins of burnin are 44 degrees Celsius.

Will a sunflower help my temps? What are the upper limits to heat on these processors?
