Hi..

I've been looking for the P4 1.8a ghz Northwood on newegg.com and i can't seem to find it.. all i get is the Socket 478 model...

NewEgg.Com P41.8A GHZ

Are these the same products??? NOrthwood = Socket 478??? Can someone clarify?

Thanks

Willamette=256k cache, socket 478
Northwood=512k cache, socket 478--ie: 1.6a, 1.8a--the "a" denotes Northwood.

only the "A" = northwood...socket 478 doesn't necessary means northwood core...you also have to check for the cache size...there are 256k and 512k...only 512k L2 cache = northwood core.
