P4 1.8A @ 2.7GHz... temperature question...

So I have this 1.8A here that I've had for a while. Anyways, I always thought it was a decent overclocker, doing 2.4GHz at 1.65V, but recently I purchased an Abit IC7 to use with a chip (2.6C @ 3.25GHZ) I bought off of THUGSROOK. The chip hasn't come yet, so I stuck the old 1.8A in to test it out.

Right now, Prime95 has been running for just over two hours running the maximum heat/FPU test and there hasn't been any crashes or errors. The chip is running at 2.7GHz (150MHz * 18) at 1.85V and full load temperature from Motherboard Monitor 5 is reported to be ~60 degrees C.

My question is this: Is 60 degrees C too high? I mean, I know it's high (about 10 degrees higher than running it at 2.4GHz at 1.65V), but is it dangerously high? I wouldn't think so because the warning temperature in the IC7 is, at default, 75 degrees C. BTW, I'm using a stock Intel heatsink/fan solution, the one with the copper insert on the bottom that is used, if I remember correctly, on the 3.2C chips and up.

yea that temp is normal ~ using 1.85v is not ;)

:D

(hope the 2.6c gets there tomorrow for ya)
