P4 - 1.6A vs. 1.8A - light o/c?

Guys, I'm getting ready to build a new system, to replace my PIII-650/Abit BH6 system that's going to college next fall w/ my daughter. For a period of time (b4 Northwood) I was pretty much set on an AthlonXP system. Now w/ the Northwood cpu's I'm leaning toward them.

At best I'll do very light overclocking. My kids use this system for homework, and as I travel occasionally I don't want to field questions about why the computer doesn't work, when I'm out. So, my question is this: for sake of comparison if both the 1.6A and 1.8A were run at stock speed, would one notice a difference in how a system would run? There's a $50 difference in price between these two processors, and I'll spend it in a heartbeat if the 1.8A is the superior solution. However, if for the typical uses of this machine (internet, Office, light gaming) the extra 200MHz will have no affect, then it will be the 1.6A.

Just get a 1.6A and overclock it to 2.133 GHz. You will be almost guarantee to achieve that speed with adequate cooling.
And we are not talking about water-cooling, just high-end air cooling.

the simple MHz increase from the 1.6 to the 1.8 will not be noticeable, but you should get the 1.6, overclock it a bit, and with the FSB going from 100 to 133, there should be a nice difference.

I have a P4-1.6@2133 and I am very pleased. Retail cooling and two panaflo 80mm... a very nice quiet system.

Well, I bit the bullet, so to speak, and just placed an order w/ Newegg. I opted for the EPoX 4SDA+, which is the SiS645 and HighPoint 372 board. I decided to go w/ the 1.6A. I have two 256MB Crucial PC2100 DDR sticks that I bought last fall (one of the few times I've purchased memory at bottom pricing). I also bought an Arkua HSF to use in place of the retail one; I'm leary of how the retail HSF bends the board. For video I got the Leadtek GF3/Ti200 card. I don't do enough gaming anymore to make any difference re what video card I get. I remember reading that the Leadtek has some of the best 2D of the GF3 series cards.

Guys, thanks for the direction and replies. I'm sure compared to my current system this thing will blow my doors off!
