I don't know if this is a hot deal or not but GoogleGear.com has em for $133. They also have some other stuff at pretty good prices.

Between Mwave, newegg, and googlegear, you should be able to find what you need at some real good prices.

Newegg has it for $133 + $7 2-3 days shipping.
Googlegear charges around $11+ for ground shipping.

Newegg wins.

Just noticed that Newegg has some good prices on their
Athlon XP's and shipping is free. Like the 1700+...$115 to your front door.

Crazyfool... I think you need to spend more time in the forums before you start making accusations. This is the Hot Deals Forum and Anrath is simply expounding on that Hot Deal.

If I recall the chips from Newegg were Costa Rican chips, while GoogleGear and MWave seemed to be shipping Malay chips. People were having less success Ocing the Costa Rican chips.

Got mine from mwave a few weeks back, I think for $148 bundled with Gigabyte 8SRX. OC'ed to 2.3GHz. VERY HAPPY!

Googlegear has also been shipping Costa Rica chips. Check out the CPU forums, according to the Intel employee gurus, there should be absolutely no difference between "Malay" or "Costa Rica" chips overclocking-wise (because the chip cores area actually made in the same factory here in the US). It's just the luck of the draw how much you can overlock...

I heard that they were the same....by why would they manufacture the chips, ship them to Costa Rica or Malasia and then package them and ship them back, it cant save that much money.

I got my P4 1.6a from Googlegear for $139 two weeks ago, and it was a Malay (not that it matters :roll😉. The overall price of ordering the chip, the Asus P4S333 retail and Kingmax pc2700 was cheaper at googlegear than newegg.

please do a search for extensive threads on these topics in CPU and General forums. PM and Wingznut PEZ are Intel employees who explain how it works in a few different threads. they posted specifically to dispell rumors of the differences in chips because certain unscrupulous dealers were charging more for Malay chips (ripping people off).
