That is very promising however sort of redundant IMO. I would only put a mATX board in an HTPC or the like where getting high OC's isnt really necessary and would only create excess heat. However it's still nice to know there are options available.

450MHz, last I checked. The limitation was that the BIOS doesn't give a 1:1 memory divider when using an 800MHz FSB CPU, so the memory gets clocked way too high.

No kidding. It's contradictory but ah well.. we're all perverts!

P.S. I wonder how soon these P35 mATX boards will hit the market? Gary might end up doing P35+P965 mATX round-up. :D

Europe has them. Not availble in the USA yet. I'm guessing it wont be too long if Europe already has them. At least they are already out in someone's market.

Its not much of a review really and it talks more about the P35 ATX version than the mATX version.

I sent a email to Gigabyte earlier this week asking when the GA G33M-DS2r would be availble in the USA. Here's their reply:

Dear Customer,

Our Authorized dealers already have this model in stock and ready. Due to the Intel's NDA, the official release date is June 4th.

Thank you for choosing Gigabyte products

Highest OC I've seen reported so far is 466fsb with a 7 multiplier setting. This mobo definetely is better than the ABIT F-I90HD in overclocking. Gigabyte just needs to get the 1:1 divider issue fixed and it'll be all golden.

Actually it's been in stock for about a week. That's how some of those guys are ocing it. This is where one guy ordered his from:

http://www.excaliberpc.com/parts.asp?stxt=p5k&x=0&y=0

That link is the ASUS P5K and P5K3 wich are ATX mobos. We're talking about the Gigabyte GA-G33M-DS2R mATX mobo. Which is currently availble in Singapore and Europe.

Btw, heard a second rumor price will be about $160 US. I guess we'll have to wait till they hit American stores to know exact pricing.

Man 160 for a MATX makes me a sad panda. I was kinda sick of waiting and got a FD-190 for cheap from frys $105. I am currently testing it and will return if I dont like it in the next two weeks.

Apparently Intel has retailers under NDA until June 4th. Probably why we havent heard much about these boards yet. I'm looking forward to seeing many more reviews.

I really wish more mATX board makers would move that useless PCIe x1 slot to the space between the PCIe x16 and the PCI slots. I only know of 3 or 4 mATX C2D boards with a layout that lets you use sound cards without blocking a 8800/2900 intake fan.

It's a shame to have a board as nice as this one, but not be able to use a X-Fi without having it block the video card intake.

I wasnt aware its being blocked. Biggest complaint I have heard about the mobo (G33m-DS2R) is that it doesnt have DVI. I'll have to go back and see what info I can dig up.

Edit: Actually the #1 complaint is the lack of a 1:1 divider. I had forgotten about that issue. The lack of DVI would be #2.

One poster over at HF says he has a 8800GTX video card and a 7.1 PCI card on his G33M-DS2R mobo so I'm gussing there wouldnt be any issues with a X-Fi card neither.
