P3 + VIA + XP + SB Live any troubles with this combo?

I have the above combo, but with an MX300, and it is giving me a head ache.
If I spend $35 and get an SB Live, will I be better off, or do you know of incompatibility problems there also?

I have a PIII-550 + P3V4X + SBLive! + WinXP and the system is rock solid. If you are sure your MX300 is giving you problem, the SBLive should fix it for you. Just make sure you have the latest drivers installed.

via chipset + anything = problem
😛
i say get a fortissmo or whatever sound card... turtle beach santa cruz? 🙂
those are great 🙂
i have a santa cruz
worked fine in my Asus A7V via crapset

I'm running XP pro, p3v4x (P3, VIA chipset), and a SB Live! and I've had few problem...only with my damn creative video card (which will soon be gone outta my life forever, can't wait to get my new one next week).

VIA + Creative = Problems, generally speaking of course. I had a KR7A-RAID (Not P3 but still VIA) and an Audigy that would refuse to boot. Pop in a GTXP and BAM comp runs like a dream. Unfortunately not my comp =/

Im not particularly pleased with VIA chipsets, but you may want to consider downloading and installing the VIA 4-in-1 drivers for your OS.. they did resolve a LOT of sporadic problems I had with my client's system.
