I have a P3 866 and its NOT overclocked but yet i get a sys. temp. of 38 degrees and i cpu temp. of 51 degrees. I have a Hegdehog/Delta 38 heatsink combo but yet i cant get my temps to drop any lower. Please help!
I have an Abit SE6. Im using the mb cmos setup utility for the monitoring. I have a ATX case with air coming in from the front and leaving the back. The case fan i have is a weak one..i will try something with more CFM. Also, what temp. should i try to achieve? Thanks.
It depends on how the motherboard reads the internal temperature diode too. My Asus P3V4X will give me a temp of 41 degrees C at full load with 1.8V at 975MHz, while my MSI i815E Pro gives me a temp of 53 degrees C at full load with 1.8V at 1021MHz. Both were used with a copper Hedgehog (is it redundant to put copper and Hedgehog in the same sentence?). I've stopped caring what temp my system and CPU are showing anymore. It's been running for months now, so I'm not concerned at all.
if the air which is being exhaused out the back of the case is a little over 'warm' then i'd say you need a better case fan. considering the case temp, i'd say the hedgehog is doing quite well.
p.s., when you're feeling the air, don't use the palm of you hand as it has moisture on it and any air will feel cool, use the underside of your forearm instead
