Are most PIII 700's being sold now cc0, or are there still some cb0 floating around? I'm trying to decide whether to buy a pretested cc0 that's overclockable (or at least says its a cc0) or buy one that doesn't list the stepping. I notice the ones that are listed are sold with a premium price.

There are still lots of cB0 stepping processors floating around.

Buy a pre-tested CPU from someone like compuwiz1 or bonkers325.....both well respected members here on the forums. They will get you a good deal.

I second Andy's idea. I bought a 700e locally that ended up being a dud (only hit 840mhz). I bought the same stepping 700e from Compuwiz for the same price, and it o/c's awesome (933mhz+).

you could always have a look at the markings on the chip(OEM) or at the end of the product number on the retail box to see if it's a cCO stepping before you buy!
you'll be looking for SL4CH or SL4M7(retail)!
