P3 800/133 and BX chipset?

If I put a P3 800/133 P3 slot-1 CPU in a Asus P2B40D Dual mobo, would I just get 600 MHz? 6x133=800, but BX won't run with 133, so that gives me just 600, right? (which is a bad thing though :( )

BX isn't limited to 100MHz ... it's just a matter of not having the more modern dividers...I am running at 129MHz, but many run at up to 140+...My father's BH6 has been running at 118MHz FSB (PII 450 CPU) for hours now burning in.

You will get 600. But, most BX boards will run at faster FSB speeds. My Asus CUBX BX board has been running my PIII 700E at 933Mhz for several years now. Some boards like my CUBX have the correct divider so when you run the BX at 133Mhz FSB the PCI bus is adjusted back to the proper 33Mhz speed.

I have a BX board (ga-bx2000) that will only run at FSB=120MHz. This is probably your worst case, then your CPU will run only at 722MHz. For a BX board like this you really need a chip with FSB=100.

Maybe your board is better than this - Good luck!
