P3 650E or P3 700E?

I know which ever I decide, I'm gonna get the cB0 stepping, but I'm wondering which of this CPU's has a higher success at 133 FSB.

650E @ 864

or

700E @ 931

BTW... I'm planning on getting a retail CPU with the HS/Fan. If I cant get either to 133 without stock cooling I will get a new hs/f.

I have an OEM 650e that I run at 962mhz, but that is with an alpha. You are more likely to hit 864 at stock cooling than 931

The 650E cbo should more easily hit 866, but the 700E should as well. The 650E is also more likely to do it with the retail heatsink, but again, nothing is guaranteed. 🙂

I think the chances for both 650E and 700E to hit 133MHz are pretty equal. But I think 700E will max out at 133MHz, while 650E still has a little bit more headroom so it can probably go to 140MHz max.

actually, the 650E's not always max out at 140.. some can go as higih as 150(like mine, its an OEM chip) but that is with a PEP66.

I've also heard of 700E's hitting 1ghz or slighly above. 🙂

The chances of having to increase voltage for the overclock are probably much greater with a 700. I have seen many more people that can get their 650 up to 866 with default voltage lately.
