I know there are quite a few users on here, who have experience with this flagship 440bx board from asus.
Have anyone of you had problems with vcore V when running a fast cumine (slot1). I dont have a more powerfull PSU to test this board on...could it be possible that my psu cannot handel this cpu? During post it gives me a power error, which can be ignored. When running at stock speed, vcore hangs around 2.0-2.05, but, it is in a red color. If I pump up the fsb to 110, vcore drops down to 1.95.

Asus p3b-f revision 1.03 bios 1006
Intel P!!!-1000mhz Cc0, philip.
235 watt psu
1x ide hd, 2-3 pci cards

Also, on the cpu packaging (retail) it sais this cpu was tested only with the intel l440gx platform and is not guaranteed to work on anything else etc...

So is this just a problem of not having a sufficient enough psu, or is the vrm on the board having problems proving the neccessary (sp) voltage??

The Pentium III 1GHz runs perfectly fine on the ASUS P3B-F with no problems.

You have a PCB rev 1.03 board, so there is no voltage issue with Coppermines.

Simply make sure that you have the latest BIOS, Version 1008 Beta 002.

The reason why you have the voltage problems is that the 1006 BIOS is unable to recognise the cC0 stepping processor, and so fails to supply the correct voltage and load the CPU microcode. Flashing with the BIOS provided in the link above will fix your problems.

Hey, where did 1008 come from, didn't see it on us mirror. Thanks for your response...I'll try the new bios when I get home today.
