This look like a decent laptop that Bestbuy has for $1399 now ( OOS ). PM this at CC and then use the 2 Mail-in rebates for $200 off.

SPECS
1.1 p3
15" active matrix screen
16 meg video card - (kinda crappy though)
20 gig HD
256 RAM
DVD/CDRW
winXP

dont buy anything from circuit city..I bought my laptop, the toshiba 3005-304, about this time last month..and i still dont have it. It was PROMISED to me by Jan 9th..and the store manager said they're still in production, and that we would have to wait for it to be shipped to me. when asked what he could/would do about the situation, he asked me to wait for the damn thing. This is shady. This is bad business. I hope you dont end up like me..STAY AWAY FROM CIRCUIT CITY

Please don't do this. Circuit City is (as far as I have heard) a very reputable company. Just because ONE person had a bad experience does not mean nobody should order from them. That would be complete nonsense. If we all listened to the one person who had a bad experience with each company then there would be 0 companies left to buy from... Your feedback is good, just please don't say "Don't buy from them because I alone had a bad experience." Just buy on a credit card and if you don't get it within the time frame then reverse charges...

I hardly experience Toshiba laptops being "still in production". If other resellers/retailers have the units in stock, it means Toshiba is shipping out the damn units. Still in production happens when Toshiba is out of a part or something and they can't put the laptops into assembly line.

My advice is to call Toshiba and ask if your laptop is actually still in production ;)

thanks for the post JamesSki. I was looking at this laptop on the circuitcity website (by the way your links have expired) and the website shows this laptop out of stock in my area. does anyone know if their stocking system is accurate? Is it worth calling circuit city to see if they have any in stock? thanks, beatniks3

Looks like noone has any........
My local BestBuy ran this add last sunday and they only had a total of 2 come in! ( gone in first hour).
So i called BB corporate and asked if all items they have sales on do they only have 1 or 2 of them just to get us in the store?

They said I can go to the store and speak to the person they spoke with ( while on hold) and get a raincheck. Problem is the Toshiba $100 mail-in rebate expires on the 15th.
I supposed if they get it in stock in 2 weeks they will have to knock $100 off also? what do you guys think?

If i can walk out of BB paying $1299 I guess thats ok.....

PS- think its possible to play Q3 with that video card ? at all?
