I Dont know if its the right place to post this.. but i thought ya'll cud take advantage of this thing... so here it is:
After the shutdown of Scour, The only thing that BEATS Napster is Imesh.com I downloaded the software and it woks WONDERS..... Movies, music, image files.... and here's the best part... you can exchange SOFTWARES TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tried it , couldn`t connect to even one single user. Nothing has come close to the reliability that Scour delivered.

well considering that you can change the name of ANY file to ".mp3" and trade it on napster....or just resort to *gasp* an actual ftp program, i see little need to worry. And napster will never die because of a little gem of a freeware program called napigator. You can simply choose your preferred server which isn't associated with napster, and voila...an infinite supply of diverse tunes

just don't use anything past beta8... they won't let u use napigator! unless they update napigator of course! =)

Imesh has been around for a good while now , even before Scour if i remember .Needs to be moved to the Software or OT forum dood

Yeah, but how about software that you can download without having to upload (like Napster).

Not to be a mooch, but some of us really don't have any software that's worth anything. :(

Hopefully someone will offer a suggestion before this gets locked. ;)

Their servers suck, can hardly connect and can't even pull up their webpage.

Napigator will not save Napster. Napster is still dependant on the main Server. All Napigator does is lets you pick your server instead of the Napster doing it for you.

mmmm imesh kinda sucks, it's very unreliable and i usually can't get anything cause it won't connect me to the user ::shrug::... server is always busy too

If you're really interested in sharing files OTHER than songs this way try Wrapster and AudioGnome .. than get on the OpenNap servers (best is bitchx.dimension6) .. always thousands of users/gigabytes online

I found imeh far too unreliable. It's a miracle if you can connect to anything.

Imesh is totally frustrating. I never seem to be able to connect. Too bad Scour is gone. Guess I'll try some of the other alternatives mentioned here.

I tried Swapoo, and it is kinda interesting that some people accidently share all the files in their computers...more than a couple of times I found the win386.swp shared and I could actually download it(not that I want to, but might be a security problem).
