p2 troubles.... please help

I just installed a pentium 2 motherboard. I pulled it out of a friend's old gateway. Its and intel generic motherboard. Specs can be found right here . it powers on but the moniter will not have display. i've tried 3 video cards v3, savage 2000, and an isa card. i pulled out everything but the bare necessities. this is on a p2 400. i took out the support posts and put them back in. do u think i killed the mobo or something?? please respodn please

PCI card? Tried it into a different slot? Is the PSU powerful enough? Any beeps? Does it have a spaker to beep?

agp card. i tried an isa card as well didnt work. 300watt psu. ill plug in a speaker to check beaps.

stuck in a pc speaker. no beeps at all. i'm sure that its plugged in properly tho. the keyboard gets no power at all.

there is no metal connecting any part of the case and the mobo. wouldnt i hear a spark if it did? i accidently touched the motherboard to a part of the case once and a spark flew out...

Well the S-Spec is right there in the middle - SL2U6.

You should be able to look this up on Intels web site, although I am not sure how much info it gives you.

But as GFORCE100 says its definitely a P2-400 512KB.

You say you saw a SPARK fly off the motherboard? :Q

Umm i took a friends old p2 400 chip and mobo. tried to boot up and nuthin goes. fans spin up but moniter doesnt turn on. tried different moniters too. tried clearing the cmos but nogo. took out eveything but video, ram, and cpu. i think its a bad mobo...
