I run a p2 333 on an Epox BXA board. I've had the machine running at 375 for a solid 2 years and I WANT MORE! I wanna get the lil hoe to run @ 417+. How do I get it to run faster than 83mhz(its @ 75 now)? I know about the pencil mark thing but I've never tried it. H E L P

btw I've run a p2 350 @ 466 on it so I know it can clock up there. It's just my freakin processor.

you need to go to tomshardware.com and search on pin taping - forcing the 100mhz fsb. if your chip is multiplier locked then you need to hope you have one of the good 333 that do 500 like its nothing. good luck.

HAHA,

There is no pencil mark trick for this CPU.

I have a PII 333 in the wife's machine (used to be mine), by using Tom's tape trick I was able to run it at 100fsb. Here is the problem. Midway in production of these chips, they went from being multiplier restricted to being multiplier locked (I think sept 98 is when they started locking them). Mine was not locked so doing 3.5 was possible.

Mine would only dance at 3.5 x 100, though I do hear of people hitting 500 with these it is very few and far between. The off-die cache just cant hang even though the core would probably do 500mhz by itself.

If your is locked then your odds are pretty slim, but you should at least try it ;-)

I didn't find any helpful links... If anyone has one they'd like to share I would be very thankful.

In order to proform this OC I have to tear off the plastic casing around the processor right??
