P180, Bad air flow

My x1900xtx recently started crashing often due to bad airflow into the case. Anyway to remedy this?

I can take the filter off but that would obviously produce much dust, But the two exhaust fans + the x1900xtx stock fan is way negative pressure, there just isn't enough air going into the box.

I thought about reversing the Top fan, but wouldn't that be bringing in warm air since the heat rises from the rest of the exhaust in the back.

Do they make Mesh Drive bay covers so I can put them in my remaining 5" drive bay?

What are the better 3rd party coolers that'd fit an x1900xtx these days.

I've tried the VF900cu in the past and it failed me, cuz the load temps were rocket.

I've got a completely different video card so I have no idea how temps compare. I do know the video card I have now (XFX 7900GT volt-modded to GTX w/Zalman VF700cu cooling) runs 10c cooler than my previous video card (eVGA 7900GT w/stock cooling) in my P180B. My temps are ~37c idle & ~49c load.
I have an intake fan (Scythe Slipstream 1200rpm) in the upper hdd cage that's blowing onto the vid card somewhat. I also have the same fans as the top & rear exhaust. I use the stock fan in the lower chamber since I couldn't figure out how to take it out & i'm too clumsy anyhow.
I took the louvered cover off the upper hdd cage & lower chamber to help w/airflow. I haven't gotten around to trimming them up or anything as I keep my door closed 99% of the time.
Perhaps put a fan in the upper hdd cage & see if that helps?

I have a p182 w/ X1950XT and my case feels cool to the touch. I have 5 120 Sythe Slipstreams running inside it. One of them is mounted on the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme. I have an intake fan at the upper HDD cage, a have the lower chamber fan..and the top fan is bringing air in(ontop of my heatsink). The slipstreams have a higher CFM rating than the tricools. Plus I mounted my 3 HD's in the bottom..so far they are all hovering around 38-42C. My Q6600 is 27C right now... I know my vid card produces alot of heat (it did in my old case) but with this setup it's not warming up the case. Having the best cooling solution for your CPU and keeping your HDD's in the lower chamber should go a long way for the p180's...even without the slipstreams the silent mode for the tricool fans would've been adequate for me. The only difference with you are the possible cables obstructing airflow esp if you have the upper chambers occupied.

I have 2 hds in the upper chamber because they're older IDEs but still large enough that I can't conceive abandoning them.

I suppose i should invest in a longer IDE cable. I had them on top because I initially thought having all 4 drives in the lower chamber would obstuct it. But i guess the HX620 + another120mm will have to due.

Yeah...get a good quality rounded cable & put those puppies in the lower chamber. My two hdd's (Hitachi 250gb & Maxtor 320gb) are staying around 30-32c down there w/my HX520.

I've had HD corruptions twice with rounded cables, so i'm never going back to them. Seems like alot of stores don't sell the flat ones no more. Anyone know where I can get Flat IDE cables cheap as in (low shipping)

I believe you, it's so simple it has got to work. But the trouble is, I have 2 DVD burners and 1 fan controller. Even if I were willing to remove one of the burners, I'd still need another slot, which means I'd have to either remove all disk media alltogether,, OMG,, why not. screw dvd, i'll just get an external kit. KAMA bay it is.

you can install the kama sideways and have it occupy 1 slot. :p Then tape cardboard in a slant to make a wind tunnel duct so the air pushes from either up to down sideways into your cards directly, or from down upwards to the cpu and motherboard area.

You just need to think "out of the box" sometimes :D

Also can you edit that F word please. Im a mod in training, and id hate to come back and edit it when i get my powers. :T

Side ways? I don't think theres enough space if I leave My dvd drives in there are only 4 slots "ANGRY" in the P180. If i'm gonna do that I might as well just open up a slot get the 8 dollars "MORE ANGRY" drive cover and make your wind tunnel design fan.
