P180 and 680i - CPU power connector too far?

I'm planning out a new Core 2 Duo system and am considering the Antec P180 and one of the 680i MBs, but both the ASUS and EVGA 680i MB's put the 8-pin CPU power connector way up in the corner behind the CPU, diametrically opposite where the power cables will be coming from in the P180 case. I'm concerned that the CPU power cable for the PS I buy won't reach.

I'm hoping to add a 8800GTX vid card (If I can swing the budget), so that might add some additional routing issues to the problem as well.

In particular, I'm considering the Thermaltake Toughpower 650W modular PS, (but am open to suggestions). I can't find specs on how long the cables are, but I'm guessing 18-20" from the pictures. Is that enough?

Does anyone have the P180 and a 680i MB? How did you route the CPU power cable? How much length do you need? Are extenders (cheaply) available for this cable?

Thanks!

the problem is basically with the design the P180 uses, and your options are finding a power supply with a long connector, or just buying an extender for 5 bucks or so.

I use a 4 pin extender in my case, because the PC-767 is inverted ATX, but the PS is on top.

Same situation as you, different PSU (NeoHE 550... you'd think Antec at least would make the cables long enough)... It figures EVGA had to put the damned connecter at the very top left corner of the board ><. I just managed to get it up and over the 8800.

I haven't been able to find any extensions, however, only 4-pins, and two of those won't work unless I cut them up a little bit (which I may do) - different pins are different shapes.

You will need an 8 pin extension cable @ frozen cpu . OR you may be able to route it straight up the center but it gest close to the spp( south bridge) 12" extension worked great for me

Nice, I was about to start a thread on this subject. About to install an evga 680i board with dual vid cards and a neo 550 psu into a p180b. Anyone know if the stock cables will be enough or do I need to be looking at picking up some extenders?

All u'll need is some extenders. If the 8 pin connector doesn't reach. All the others should be fine.

Sorry if this is off-topic or if i'm hijacking the thread or if this question has been asked before.
But will the geforce 8800 gtx fit in the antec P180?Will one ofthe hard drive cages have to be removed?

You need to remove the center drive cage because of the length of the 8800GTX.

Also I got my 8 pin connector to reach but had to connect it outside of the case before I seated my Scythe Infinity.
