I cannot get the front line-out connector to work (trying with headphones). If you have this combo you'll know that the labels on the wires (and according to the case manual) don't match up with the pins on the mobo (according to the manual).

I have the front MIC jack working, and really thought I had the line-out wired correctly. Standard rear on-board sound works fine with speakers plugged in.

Anyone with this combo get it working?

I'd be interested in finding this out as well since that is the case I plan to buy for my DFI nf4 SLI-DR.

So......................................Bump, Bumpity, Bump, Bump, Bump!

Well, on the DFI boards, you have to change some jumper settings. Once you change the jumper settings to enable top/front audio, it disables the rear audio. It's in the manual...

Yeah, I saw that on the PDF manual from DFI's site after I bumped this last night. It looks as if you cannot have rear audio enabled and then plug in headphones to the front of the case.

You would need to reach back, unplug the speakers, and plug your cans into the Line-out on the Karajan module.

It just seems odd to me though. Because I have pins 5, 6, 9, 10 all hooked up with the cable from the P160 front audio ports and, according to the DFI manual (page 42), I should not be able to get MIC-in working on both the front audio port and the rear Karajan MIC jack at the same time. I have both working.

So, I assumed I could have the rear audio working at the same time as the front line-out... just that the front line-out would take precedence if hooked up (i.e. headphones plugged in).

I have that combo and I got it working the way I wanted after some trial and error, (the only approach available to me with zero computery knowledge). Apparently there's some mistakes in the manual. The way I have it set up, it outputs to the speakers plugged into the back unless I stick headphones into the front, in which case it outputs the sound to the headphones only. The way I understand the mics, is that it would take sound from both sockets simultaneously, or wouldn't there be some sort of jumper routing front to back mic pins?

Going from memory I think I did it like this:
Pull both those jumpers off that connect front panel to back panel speaker output.
Mic bias <-> left mic
mic <-> right mic

ret L <-> right line out
ret R <-> left line out (both of the RETs went on the lower row of pins).
the other p160 left plug <-> the other karajan right
the other p160 right plug <-> the other karajan left (the upper row of pins)

ground obviously goes into ground.

When I plugged it in the intuitive way (left<->left, right<->right), it reversed the headphone stereo output, which resulted in my being shot in the back of the head since i turned the wrong way.
If I remember rightly the left plugs should go in the middle column rather than their natural column at the far side, (where you should input the right plugs).

Hope that helps despite my inability to remember the correct names for everything.
