Ok, the title was just to get your attention

http://www.vi2.com/maxForumFiles/volcano.jpg

Designed and rendered by yours truly. :)

What do you guys think? I also have a 1600 x 1200 version that i rendered for my desktop...i'll upload it if there is enough interest?

only problems i see are the sky (needs to be darker) and the clouds...i trashed the original so i need to start all over again :( :( :( :(

Bryce is soooo slow.... And unless you've got a good grasp on it, everything ends up looking the same...

it's cool. I like Maya MUCHO better-o. I'm lucky that my City College has a *ton* of SGI workstations with Maya on them. Awesome program...

That pic just screams "I was made in 5 minutes with Bryce!"

Don't get me wrong, Bryce is a great program, and can make a great wallpaper in less time than 3dsmax or Maya. But this pic is an example of how it got it's reputation, just sticking some primitives on a terrain does NOT create a very good image.

It's a good pic for a first try, but compared to something that a lot of effort went into, it sucks.

Heh, here I was all impressed, and just about to ask how long it took you to do the water simulation. And then I realized, "wait, he wasnt using a ray tracer."

Bryce is very sucky ... :p Learning curve is much greater than Terragen's. Not to mention that Terragen is free.

And results are much better! :D

Dude you've obviously made that in 5 minutes in Bryce. Ugh, If anyone says that's good they've obviously never touched the program. Go get some practice and come up with some decent landscapes.
