Hi all, it's been about 4 or 5 years since I have put something together, so it's about that time again guess! :)

Here is my list, I have been lurking again and doing a little bit of research, so I feel like I am getting close, but wanted to check with people that are doing this a LOT more often than I.

Is my P/S going to be enough, and the LCD I have chosen, is there better in that price range? I'd like to keep my system around $1000, and I don't really intend to overclock, just want to play games and do the usual things with the new PC.

Ummm, that PSU will definitely be enough to run that rig. But adding a cpu and a motherboard to it could change things. ;)

Ok, since you don't intend to overclock then scrap the CPU cooler. The $40 you spend on that will give you zero performance or reliability gain. The stock Intel cooler is great for stock speeds.

You also don't need the DS3 since the main thing it's good for is overclocking. There's 945P based motherboards for less money that are very stable and perform well at stock speeds.

Also, you should know that the cheaper e4400 with its 2.0GHz clockspeed but 2mb cache trades blows about evenly with the e6320 at 1.86GHz with its 4mb cache, depending on the app. So since you're not OCing you might want the e4400 instead.

As for the PSU, Jonnyguru has good things to say about the Rosewill RP500-2 500W. But I don't know anything about the Rosewill RD500-2-DB that you mentioned. I'd recommend getting the 400W Sparkle which has +18A+18A on its 12V rails for $45 from Newegg.

Excellent tips, thanks for those! Do you have a recommendation on a better mobo since I won't be OC'ing?

One good option is the GA-945P-S3 for $79. That would even give you the option to OC a tiny bit (it should do 300 FSB without a problem) if you get the hankering later. There are cheaper options, too, but I'm not so familiar with them.
