I've inadvertently come up with an argument for conservatism, being that if society progressed to the point that people didn't have to work to survive, then there's a reasonable chance that a good portion of society would have to spend their time stopping the stupid shit that another portion was constantly up to, e.g.:

I liked their take on the un-stealable briefcase. You could toggle how much force was used to clamp down on the thief's hand, and I believe an early model had an Electrocute option. I'd set that shit to Gorilla.

The first trainer (teaches sailors how to operate our system at sea) at the Bangor site was a coin dealer on the side. He had one of those brief cases. One time he casually showed me about 50k worth of Nevada mint Silver Dollars.
