Texans use Whataburger app for outage tracker after the hurricane takes down power for 2.2 million people. Centerpoint Energy's app doesn't use a map and won't work!

Haha! Ahhh, Texas. I shouldn't laugh though, those folks must be in a dimension of pissed off few visit. Imagine that clean up slog, with no power, in that kind of humidity and heat. Sounds like hell.
Does Texas have a feedomnet that is down along with their freedomgrid?

Really though from my own experiences utilities absolutely suck at building scalable infrastructure to handle demand during emergencies. Everytime more than 100K lose their power in the Consumer's Energy area their outage map and reporting sites shit the bid for days. If only there were regulators not captured by the utilities to actually hold them accountable for shitty performance.

The other good news is those workers are protected by state law from being forced to take breaks during the heat.
