I just got 1. Number 12, I had one of the first Dolby cassette decks out there at the time, I wasn't going to waste it by recording Stereo FM broadcast, and AM, no way.

Oddly enough, an FM broadcast of a live session was the cleanest signal one could achieve until DDD CDs became available. FM was cleaner than vinyl, cleaner than reel to reel tape, and way better then cassette tape.I just got 1. Cheat!!! Then you didnt get a 0 then did you...I recorded a few songs because I didn't know what they were, When I found out what they were, I got the album or copies.. hated the radio station adverts mid songs.
No all night album rock FM for, you know, staying up late for some reason in your area?I recorded a few songs because I didn't know what they were, When I found out what they were, I got the album or copies.. hated the radio station adverts mid songs.

CD predates DAT by about 3 years.DAT was around before CDs and that is still a bit better than CD, no?
True, dat.CD predates DAT by about 3 years.
1. I don’t think I’ve ever recorded FM to a cassette tape. I thought CDs were The bees knees. No more damn hiss drowning out high notes. Or compressing the entire score. FM was better, and I preferred listening to classical music via FM.
Yep. Those were the height of cassette tech. Too bad tape in all forms deteriorate, especially if you keep them in your car. Oh well, that's all history, I guess. For some reason the youngsters rediscover old tech and claim is sounds more natural. Ha,ha......I can't say if I recorded off the radio to cassette. Those days were not the kindest to short, long term, middle memory. I do remember mixtapes tho.
I had a bitchin Nakamichi wedge cassette recorder there at the last of it.
I wore the heads right off that thing.

As well as all of the digital interfaces we recorded, as part of being the white rat on the sub, we always recorded audio data to see how the crews responded over the comms during an alert. Up till the last upgrade we used 3 tracks of a 4 track 7 inch real to real. The last upgrade we went to DATs. A TEAC IIRC.
