Who knew that Musk would quadruple down on stupid and make it so you had to log in to view a tweet?

I deactivated my twitter account a long time ago. And my life has been much better for it ever since.

Seems to be something else, as I can view some other Twitter links without being asked to login. Did KMFJD get shadow banned?

Guess I was wrong, Musk admitted to it being a change requiring logging in. What an idiot. Have a hunch it might be targeted as some links from others were still working before.

Probably a good way to further erode what influence and wider importance twitter ever had. Hopefully it's the start of the site fading into irrelevance. Any mainstream journalist or celeb posting there now knows their reach is going to be limited to the actual membership of the site (which itself will probably shrink).

Heck someone already posted a Tic Tock link which is a site I've never wanted to go to. Thankfully, they wanted a sign in. So no Tic Tock for me. I wish they would all just die.

All your Twitter links are asking for login.
That a new thing that the fucktard Musk has implemented.

That said, I hate having to click on a twatter link and waiting for it to load... sometimes it is a real Gem, and well worth it, sometimes it is a turd and a complete waste of effort... thus if I see something on twitter worthy of spreading (I NEVER re-twit on that platform, lurker only), I capture it and post it here. Had I seen this one first, I would have treated it so....

PS, and I am happy to share stuff that Musk covets so that he wants you to log in to view.
I guess most people see ads out the wazoo on there, but with ad blocking software on my router and browser, I see none.

PPS. Besides he's a Trump lover, so fuck him for that also...

In many ways, he's just like trump, every idea he comes up with just makes it worse for him. Wonder if he also participates in "perfect phone calls".

6,000 a day!

So someone spends 12 hours a day on twatter, reading a post every 7 seconds, and that's too much for space Karen?

Your results echo what I've heard from roughly two dozen other people. Several of them combined it with quitting Facebook. That's how you "rawdog your way to a healthier mental space" I'm told. Haha

Kinda scans actually, I mean, he is an imperious prick. The kind of prick that would publicly vow to fix Flint, MI's water supply, and then just kind of walk away from it. The kind of prick who says he's giving Starlink to Ukraine for free when he didn't, then shafts the US, the country responsible for his wealth and success, with exorbitant rates to keep the access.

Is data scraping showing Twitter stuff here for example? Seriously asking.
Depends if we're talking magic Elmo definition (possibly?) or any normal human definition (nope, not even remotely)

I think of it as data scraping only if extracting and consolidating large amounts of data/files/images (or tweets) generally into a database/spreadsheet, typically by an active software program - not one-off links/images copied manually by a person. Although Elmo might argue even just 1 single extracted twitter image posted anywhere else is data scraping and is causing his site to collapse (lol).

Oh, and data scraping is broadly legal anyway ~ with a few exceptions on collecting personal information or copyrighted content, depending on your location.
