There is constant motivation when there is no reward for good work ethic. It comes in the form of threats, intimidation, favoritism, coercion, divisionism, nepotism and iron fisted workplace rules that the workforce must adhere to as directed by management.

Basically speaking, a form of discrete torture being applied in the workplace so as to keep profits up and wages/benefits down.
