IIRC, they moved their original farm (or it is still there) from Iowa, and only live in CA now, either with a smaller farm or none at all. The Nunes family farm, anyway, is historically in Iowa and all of this farming (which is also primarily worked by "illegal immigrants") remains.

I think his CA residence is just carpetbagging status.
