no lie: I had no idea what these books were when I first started reading them. I read like, half of one pretty quickly before I started to ask myself wtf was going on with the way this book was laid out.
....then I started paying attention to those "little footnotes" at the bottom.
Imagine that--reading Choose your Own Adventure books straight through in sequential pages, spend at least half of that time assuming you were reading a cogent story and that it must be you is too stupid to understand it yet.....and now imagine that you aren't a child doing that and that you are actually an adult in the real world, approaching the life in front of you that way, and thinking "yes, there must be greater meaning to this--please inform me unknown sage because clearly I am too small for your wisdom."
