You think these tweets are why Trump was so desperate to have Comey and others publicly claim that he wasn't a target of the various investigations? It seems that this was always his specific issue--not the investigations--just that he wasn't being investigated directly.

IIRC, the most recent updated admin comment regarding the Comey firing is that it was simply due to Comey never publicly saying that Trump wasn't a target of the investigation, even though Trump claims that Comey told him his several times, in private.
