Our 24 hour stay for our first child 15 years ago (normal birth) the hospital charged over $10K. Our portion was $300 through insurance

For our last kid we had her at home with a midwife. Total cost was $4500 for 6 months of prenatal care and delivery. Insurance did not cover any of that.
