"Virginia is an employment-at-will state, meaning employers can fire people anytime and for any reason. But Briskman said what’s been particularly infuriating is that a male colleague kept his job after recently posting lewd comments on his Facebook page that featured Akima LLC as his cover photo. She said this colleague was reprimanded for calling someone “a fucking Libtard asshole” on Facebook, but was allowed to delete the post and keep his job."

snowflakes at akima.

Employee handbooks & rules of conduct are binding contracts superseding that & must be enforced fairly in order to be enforced at all.

Did you say the same thing about Google when it fired the engineer when he wrote the manifesto about women and diversity training and such?

Your gonna have to do better than that.

I could say the same thing you could do a lot better than that.

Google is not a government contractor while Akima is. I do not remember Akima was talking about all the feel-good stuffs as Google was and is still continuing to say so.

For the record, I do not think either one should be fired. Reprimand and have a talk with HR, sure. But not fireable offense (for the first offense) IMO.

How many chances to flip off the Hair Furor do you figure she'll get in a lifetime, anyway?
