We got a Captain America fan right here boys.

I'm not sure what you're trying to convey here :)

My impression/understanding of the US is that people can be fired quite easily and whimsically, and (again AFAIK) the American police have pretty strong unions and a strong sense of defending their own (IMO to an extent that compromises their ability to do their job), I would have thought that that doesn't change the impression of the populace about what constitutes a firing offence and therefore what is just. IMO for someone to make a judgement call that that logo was appropriate either has a fundamental misunderstanding of their role in society or failed to research the logo sufficiently in order to make such a judgement. Either way, gross negligence IMO (and I'm not using that term in a strictly legal sense).

The Police Unions will be the last Union standing. All others will fall. The government needs them to enforce the laws the rest of us are required to follow. You will see even more police protections, and the LEO's will gobble it right up....bite the hand that feeds you and all that...

This is what I don't understand though - I'm sure most developed countries have some kind of police union, yet without the problems American has with its police force. The UK had similar issues with thuggish (and racist) police, but there were two major incidents (IIRC) that has changed that AFAIK. The first was the Brixton riots in the 70s (predominantly black neighbourhood at the time I think), the second was the murder of a black teenager called Stephen Lawrence which was improperly investigated by the police and an investigation into that revealed institutionalised racism.
